Records Division
The records division organizes, relays, and maintains all records for Weathersfield Police Department. Our records division is under the direct control of the Chief of Police, Michael Naples, Jr. Functions of the division include entry of criminal reports, arrest reports, traffic accidents and traffic citations. Our station's records division is staffed with one police records clerk.

Copies of police reports can be picked up at Weathersfield Township Police Station, located at 1451 Prospect St. in Mineral Ridge. Records is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15p.m.,and is closed on all holidays.
Accident Reports
Accident Reports are available five days after the accident, excluding weekends and holidays. If the accident investigation is still active, the report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.Weathersfield Police Department no longer takes private property accident reports unless injury or severe damage exists.
Insurance Companies: Accident report investigations will not be sent via fax or email at this time.

Towing
Effective August 1, 2014, any vehicle that has been towed will be towed to the new impound lot at Weathersfield's Police Station. All owners/drivers will be given a form explaining which towing company towed their vehicle. The office business hours for a release are 8:00am-4:15pm Monday-Friday.
If vehicle is released AFTER BUSINESS HOURS, there will be an ADDITIONAL CHARGE of $150.00 added to impound/administrative charges. To release after hours vehicle owner must contact 330-675-2730 and request a Weathersfield Officer.
For your vehicle to be released, you must:

Go to the towing company and pay for the tow. The company will give you a receipt.
Go to WPD and:

Show the receipt from the towing company;

Pay the processing fee ($75) and the $25 per day storage fee;

Show proof of insurance for towed vehicle, will accept paper copy OR digital copy from electronic device;

Proof of ownership and/or current registration; and

Valid driver’s license;

Court Release NEEDED for DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION and DRIVING VEHICLE WHILE IMPAIRED, ANY TRAFFIC CITATIONS ISSUED TO DRIVER.
If your vehicle was involved in an accident, it will be towed to the towing companies’ impound lot.
BEFORE you go to the towing company to retrieve your vehicle, you must obtain a release form from WPD:

Pay the processing fee ($75)

Show proof of insurance for towed vehicle;

Proof of ownership and/or current registration; and valid driver's license
After you come to WPD and show these items, you will then have to go to the towing company and pay towing and storage fees.Then your vehicle will be released.
A vehicle will not be released without the above listed items.

Criminal Reports are available twenty four hours after they are completed excluding weekends and holidays. Records will not fax or email reports.
