Chief Consiglio's dedication to our department will never be forgotten. Thank you for your service, Chief Consiglio.
It is with a heavy heart that Weathersfield Township Police Department and Weathersfield Township Board of Trustees inform every one of the passing of Chief Joseph P. Consiglio. Chief Consiglio had served over 30 years with Weathersfield Police Department—and with the past 12 years serving as the Chief of Police. Chief Consiglio was instrumental in the growth of Weathersfield Police Department in its thirty years of existence.

WPD would like to congratulate Officer Carmen Altobelli for accepting a full-time position at Howland Township. As a part-time officer, Officer Altobelli was an asset to our department and a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Carmen, for your contribution and dedication to our department. Good Luck in all of your future endeavors!

The Weathersfield Township Police Department would like to thank all township residents, businesses, and officials for their continuous, gracious support which has led to the passage of the replacement levy. As in the past, Weathersfield Police department will continue to strive to protect its citizens. Again, thank you, your support is greatly appreciated.

The Weathersfield Police department has purchased two new 2014 Ford SUVs. The new SUVs replaced two 2003 Ford Police Interceptors; both Ford Police Interceptors had accumulated over 160,000 miles. Through a program offered by Ford and State collaborative purchasing, the department saved $8,000 on each vehicle. The SUVs and Police Interceptors are comparable in price and have similar gas mileage; overall, the SUVs meet our departments needs better than the Interceptors.

As of March 1, 2013, K9 Vito has retired from Weathersfield Police Department. During his years of service, he assisted officers along with other outside agencies on numerous calls regarding drug sniffs, article searches and tracking. He was truly a valuable assest to everyone and that was shown through his work. Thank you Vito!

Since Vito has retired, he has been replaced by K9 Dani, a 1 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois. Officer Blosser, who is the handler, purchased Dani from Holland through his company Tri-State Canine Services L.L.C., the team is certified in patrol, narcotics detection, article searches and tracking.

Owners of the All American USA Cab Company donated $1,000.00 to the Weathersfield Police Department. The money will be placed into the K-9 fund and used for training. Thanks Carl & Jim!
